Hi I'm Kari

I have lived in Utah my whole life... with the exception of a 6-month stay in Tucson, AZ. I was born and raised in the LDS Church.

About Me

I am the mother of six children: 4 boys and 2 girls. I have two granddaughters and a grandson, with another granddaughter due in October. My two oldest sons served as missionaries in Switzerland and Argentina, and I currently have two sons serving as missionaries in Chile and Argentina. I love music, reading and spending time with my family. I also enjoy running, and I have run many races, including a half-marathon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised by parents who taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 8. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who watches over us and wants to bless us. He loves each of us individually. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and that he loves me. I know that he suffered for my sins, weaknesses, and sorrows. Because of Him, I can be forgiven of my sins and return to live with Him again. I love Him, and I want to be like Him. I know that families can be together forever, and that I can see my grandparents and my father-in-law again someday. I am happy to belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach Sunday School, teaching the 16-17 year olds. I have enjoyed volunteering with our local high school, sewing costumes for theatrical productions and playing the piano for rehearsals. I have also participated in community theater, performing in musicals such as The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, and the Wizard of Oz.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American Continent. Each of those prophets testify of Jesus Christ, who, after his resurrection, visited a group of people known as the Nephites. The Nephites are descendants of a prophet named Nephi. Ancient records written by prophets were abridged by a man named Mormon. Thus, the title of the book. The book was translated by Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
