Hi I'm Angeleen Hyde

I am the oldest of 9 kids and have 4 parents. I love reading. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a freshman in High School who absolutely loves learning. I may be in the minority, but school is one of my favorite things in the world. Some other things I like to do are reading good books, singing, fangirling, and playing the piano. Something that makes me a little different from most people is I come from a divorced family. My Mom and Dad split when I was 7 and although it has been extremely difficult, I am and forever will be grateful to my Heavenly Father for this challenge, because I have learned so much from it and have met people I never would have if it had been any other way. I have a wonderful step mom, step dad, step sisters and a half sister and brother I never would have known had it been any other way. I have a firm testimony in this gospel and love it more than words can describe!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Why would I go anywhere else when I have found what I know to be true? I am a Mormon, because what I learn at church shows me how I can find true happiness; not just the kind you have temporarily from receiving worldly things. Everything I learn in the gospel helps me come closer to Christ and farther along on my way back to my Heavenly Father. Since I know how true this gospel is, it makes me want everyone in the world to know about it so they, too, can be truly happy. I am a Mormon, because I know it is the true church. I have felt it testified to me numerous times. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and we have a living prophet today who tells us what the Lord would have us do. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, because I have read it multiple times and prayed about it. This gospel is true. I know that as a fact not just some random belief.

How I live my faith

I live my faith not only by being an example and living my standards at school, but also by serving at church. I am lucky enough to get to help out with girls 14-15 at church by planning some of the weekly activities we do on Wednesdays. The main way I live my faith is by doing just that; by doing what I know my Heavenly Father wants me to do. I try to set the best example to my many siblings, friends, and strangers by living in accordance to what I know to be true.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Angeleen Hyde
Talk with someone who's a Mormon and they can help you out. If you want to know even more, ask them about the missionaries(representatives of our church). They are wonderful people and will be able to help you out with whatever questions you have. If you don't know a member, try calling 1-888-537-6600. This number will help you find someone to help you understand more clearly some of the things on this website. And don't be shy! Both members and missionaries are always more than happy to help you learn more. Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Angeleen Hyde
We need the Savior for everything. It's as simple as that. We need him so we can confess our sins and ask for forgiveness when we make wrong choices. We need him so we can have a clean slate when we truly repent. But most importantly because he went through the Atonement, we can all be forgiven and return back to our Heavenly Father if we follow His commandments. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Angeleen Hyde
Being a Mormon is amazing. It brings so much true joy into your life, because you have this feeling that everything taught is true. Learning that Heavenly Father has a special plan for each one of us, and we can all return to Him if we do as He would have us do brings so much light into life, so much purpose. I also love how important families are to us. Mormons do lots of service, missionary work, and family time, because those are vital parts of God's plan for us. Plus it's just downright fun! What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Angeleen Hyde
I have such a strong belief in the blessings you can receive by reading scriptures, specifically the Book of Mormon. Jesus asks us not only to simply read them but dive into them, to pretend you are actually there and experiencing what the people who lived then were experiencing, to feel the emotions they were feeling. We are also admonished to relate them to our only lives. Even though the scriptures were written years ago, I know without a shadow of a doubt that they relate to you personally. When ever I have a problem or a question I need an answer to, I first ask Heavenly Father to guide me as I SEARCH, not just look, search for the answer. Then I go to my scriptures and search for an answer. It is such a blessing, because through these scriptures, we can find how to draw closer to Him and be more like Him. If you pray and ask Heavenly Father for the Holy Ghost to tell you if the Book of Mormon is true He. Will. Answer. Show more Show less
