Hi I'm Laura Estrada

I am from Guatemala, I love art and I'm currently studying Architecture and I am mormon and I love it!

About Me

I love art, art has always been in my life and I couldn't imagine not being able to do it. I have actually won some awards because of my art and been in gallery shows, but now I am currently studying architecture. I actually decided I wanted to be an architect when I was six years old, I know weird because I was very young to be think of that, but I have always been the type of person to plan ahead. I love my family they have always been their for me and I am happy that they have always supported my decisions no matter what. I really am blessed. I love to read and paint and run/walk when I'm tired haha. Last thing is that I love this gospel it has made me who I am today and for that reason I am always happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, both of my parents are converts and have always taught us of the gospel. I personally love the church, there is no other religion for me. Life has been pretty simple for me but I have had my challenges that have tested my faith and how strong I am but every time something like that happens I remember that my Heavenly Father is always with me and he is always going to help me stand up straight and strong when ever I feel like I will fall down. I would like to share my testimony; I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and it’s the only true church on the earth today, I have been blessed to know that all that I have read from the book of Mormon and Bible is true and that there is no greater truth than those messages left for us in them. I know that by the power of prayer we are able to communicate with our Heavenly Father and know that he is always there for us. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and I am grateful that he restored the gospel for these latter days. I have been blessed with a loving family that has been there for me everyday and I am glad to now that families can be together forever. I know that my Heavenly Father loves everyone of us on this earth and that he wants us all return to him one day. I know that Jesus Christ gave his life so that we could all have that opportunity and I am grateful for everything he has given me. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father for the opportunity to go and serve in his work.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the helping hands organization and I love to help out when I can because when people smile and are happy I feel happy. I used to be a teacher in primary for the kids of ages 9-11, that was one of my favorite callings because they were so happy all the time and when it came time to share anything I would always have so many of them wanting to share, it was really something special to share that hour with them every Sunday. I also was in the National Honor Society which is a program at school where you get to do a lot of serves for the community and the school and it truly made the school a better place. Last thing is that when ever the church had a serves project/activity my family and I always try to help as much as we can, be it 4 hours or just 1 we always try to help.
