Hi I'm Kellie

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado. I'm a nursing student at Brigham Young University- Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in Colorado, I was one of five children. I'm the fourth and couldn't be luckier to have an amazing, strong family. Now that the children have all grown up and are scattered throughout the nation (myself in Idaho!) we enjoy using Google Hangout to laugh, talk, and connect each Sunday. I love the state of Idaho. I am on my third year at Brigham Young University- Idaho and have fully settled in. Academic learning was not something I excelled in, in High School. However, since my journey as a college student- I have learned to love learning! With a new perspective on how important and unique gaining an education is, I have been able to study with gratitude for my Heavenly Father giving me this opportunity. I also have a love for fun! I'm a college student, yet at times I find myself giggling like a middle school girl! I have built many life-long friendships throughout my life and cherish them dearly. I'm excited for my life to continue! I tend to be a planner and a scheduler... But I know that by continuing to live righteously, whether my life goes as I planned or in a different direction, happiness is to be found.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is Christ's church, established by Him through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know this to be true because I have read The Book of Mormon several times throughout different stages in my life and I have been able to hear a personal God answering, comforting, and directing me through the pages. I have received the exact same feeling while reading the pages of the Bible. I know the Bible and The Book of Mormon to be the words of God. Through making little changes in my life each day, I feel His presence more and more. I know he is aware of me and I know he is close by me to watch, protect, love, give, and bless me. I am a Mormon because there is no possible way I could deny all that God has given to me. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and want to be reunited back to His presence, as well as my Father in Heaven's.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to be a little bit better each and every day. I've grown to learn that perfection right here, right now, is not what Heavenly Father expects of His children. Instead, he asks us to progress towards perfection right here, right now. Key word, progress. I do this by being an active participant in my church services held each Sunday. One of the things I love about being a member of this church is the fact that I, as a young college student, receive many opportunities in which I can serve and express my thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to others in the congregation all the time. In the congregations that I've attended, I've been able to serve as a Sunday School teacher for both the little three year olds, as well as students that are my same age.
