Hi I'm Nash

I grew up all over the world. I love running. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was able to grow up all over the world. I lived in Kansas, Michigan, Indonesia, Germany and Hungary as a child before enrolling in college where I am now. My hobbies include cross country, hiking and music. I love spending time with my parents and three siblings. We always have a blast. I am putting all this on hold for two years however, and currently preparing to serve a full-time mission in Novosibirsk, Russia.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the church, I was taught the gospel from a very young age. I learned a lot from the testimonies and faith of my parents, friends and church leaders. However, I soon came to realize that I did not know for myself if my church was true. Deep down, I had not yet been converted. It was as a teenager that I truly began to develop a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I prayed to know if God even existed. I instantly received a knowledge, through the Holy Ghost, that I was a son of my Heavenly Father and that He loves me. With this foundation, which is at the core of my faith, I was able to gain a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I follow the gospel today simply because it makes me happy. The joy and relief that comes from the atonement of Jesus Christ is like nothing else on this Earth. We have all done wrong. Through Christ however, we can have our wrongs forgiven. By repenting, I have received a personal testimony of the atonement and this gospel. I am a Mormon because I have found joy in living the gospel and coming to Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I strive my best to have my faith be the central focal point in my life. To do this, I have to constantly refocus my life goals and remind myself of what is really important by having daily scripture study and personal as well as family prayer. This helps me leave behind the temporary distractions of day to day life and concentrate on how I can improve and achieve my full potential. I have served my congregation by visiting with members, speaking in church, doing family history work and administering the sacrament. One of the main ways that I practice my faith now is by serving a full-time mission for two years. Because I know that my church is true, I am excited to leave all that is familiar to me and put my education and social life on hold in order to share God's message with the people of Russia. I have experienced personally how Christ's love has helped me and brought me out of hard times. I want to share the joy that I have found in the gospel and bring others to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
