Hi I'm Jordan Hanks

I'm a Musician, I'm a Traveler, I'm a Backpacker, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

First and foremost, I believe life is to be enjoyed, and that if you can't laugh at yourself, then life gets pretty boring. I grew up in Boise, Idaho, as the youngest of six children. I have always loved music, especially how it helps me to communicate with people on a very personal level, and I have been involved in various choirs, bands, a cappella groups, and daily shower singing. Growing up in Idaho, I have always loved the outdoors, whether it be hiking, snowboarding, backpacking, camping, or anything else that involves being outside. I've attended school at BYU studying Media Arts and Psychology.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was young, I have been raised to believe in God and follow Christ's example. During my later teenage years, I struggled with my personal beliefs, until I eventually decided hat I needed to know for myself whether the things I had always been taught were true. Over the next year or so, through consistent study of the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I came to know God better and realized that I had a purpose in this life, and I began to see that God had always been there with me. As I studied, I gained a personal witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that it has been given to us to bless us in these last days.

How I live my faith

I do my best every day to live my life the way that my Savior, Jesus Christ, would want me to live it. For me, that means reaching out to those that need help, offering service, and being a caring person. I want people to look at the way I live my life and think, "Wow, he really does care". I am currently serving a two year mission in Charlotte, North Carolina where I am teaching the principles of Christ's gospel and trying to make other people's lives better.
