Hi I'm Alina

I'm a student. I love my family and making people laugh. I enjoy Mexican food and plentiful amounts of Dr.Pepper. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a home that was full of love and laughter. My family is very important to me and I love to spend time with them. We are a very loud and lively bunch. Recently I got married and gained a whole new family that I love just as much. In my spare time I like playing sports, taking pictures, longboarding, graphic design and watching netflix. I am studying Public Health with the hopes of one day working in gerontology. I have a special place in my heart for the elderly and would love to spend my career connecting with as many people I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon by choice; by definition I am a convert. I did not grow up in a LDS home. My mom taught me about Jesus and that there was a God. She always let me know that he loved me. We occasionally said the memorized Catholic prayers but we did not associate with any particular religion. When I was 10 years old I had a lot of close friends that came from religious families. They would talk about going to church, church camps and different activities. I decided I wanted to go to church, and the only people I knew who attended church regularly were my grandparents. One day I asked my mom if I could call my grandma and go to church with her and the rest is history. I continued to go to church with my grandparents for about three years when I decided I wanted to be baptized. I took the missionary discussions and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Back then I didn't fully realize how important the decision to call my grandma and ask to go to church with her would have on my life, but I am so grateful that I did. I'm blessed to have dedicated grandparents who provided so many opportunities to shape my testimony and grow my faith as well as a mother who loved me and made sure I knew my Heavenly Father loved me too. I've experienced a lot of hardships and trials and I know that I wouldn't have been able to overcome them the way I have if I wasn't a member of this church. Life is hard but but the gospel makes it a little bit easier!

How I live my faith

We are taught in the church that we should act as Christ did, so I try to do just that. I try to be an example to others and to help them when they are in need. I try to show love and compassion to everyone I speak or interact with. I smile.
