Hi I'm Tony

I grew up in Idaho. My family have been members of the church my entire life. I'm a mormon

About Me

I am a young man who has grown up in a Mormon home. I was baptized on May 1, 2004 which happens to be my birthday. I have faithfully served in my church callings. I have a lot of interest in technology and computers. I have repaired, built, and designed computers for people I know. I have an small interest in wood-working. My father likes to build things for the home, and I would like to be able to do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon. I used to ask myself that as well. I grew up in the church. I never really understood why, other than my parents made me go. I had been struggling in faith and I had a lot of doubts. My parents were seeing that I was struggling. I tried to talk to them, and they tried to explain, but it wasn't going anywhere. I didn't want to talk to my bishop about it, either; so I kept it bundled up inside. I kept going to church, continued doing my responsibilities, and went to class to mask my struggles. I kept praying to God that He would help me know the truth. I was expecting it to fall on my head and I would have no more doubt. It wasn't until a youth temple trip that was coming up that I actually talked to one of the bishopric about my doubts. Back then, the bishopric would interview every youth and write down on a list who was worthy to go on the temple trip. For some reason, I felt that I needed to go to the temple. I answered the questions truthfully, and, although the bishop was a little let down, he had decided, with much pondering, to let me go. I had done the temple work that I was supposed to do, and we were getting ready to leave when the bishop asked a newly converted young woman to share her experiences. With how much joy she had that she was able to go, it touched my heart and I was able to hear in a very quiet prompting that the church was true. That was all that I needed to know. I still had an ounce of doubt, but it was much less than what I had originally had. I know that this church is the church of God. He does answer prayers, maybe not immediately, but he does. Whenever someone or something tries to disprove that the church is true, I always reflect on that day. I know out Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and that He wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I was previously the 1st Advisor to the Bishop in the Priest Quorum. Basically it is the youth leader for the Priest Quorum. I have recently become an Elder getting ready to go on a mission to the Philippines. In the meantime, I do try to help the elderly in my ward as well. They will call for some help and I will go and help them out, especially the computer stuff. I am also one of the youth representatives for indexing.
