Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a Biology major. I'm a rock climber. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At the early age of three, I started gymnastics which has been one of the greatest joys of my life. It has taught me how to work hard, endure struggles, and rejoice in my accomplishments. When I quit gymnastics at the age of sixteen, I went in search of a new hobby. I never dreamed that I would find the great joy that rock climbing brings to my life. It teaches lessons which form a parallel to the teachings of the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ. Each time I go rock climbing, I ponder on the profound doctrine associated with it. Just as with climbing, we are on an upward climb to the ultimate joy of reaching a more glorious and broadened view of the glories of God and eternal life. We seek out a trusted companion to belay us through this magnificent climb. We encounter many obstacles and struggles that we must push through, and sometimes even through our best efforts are put forth, we slip and fall. Although it is always scary to fall, we rely on our belayer to catch us and keep us safe, until such time where we are rested and able to continue the climb and ultimately reach the top. Our journey in life can be likened to this climb - Our trusted companion and belayer is our brother and friend Jesus Christ. As we encounter obstacles and struggles day to day, we can gain strength and comfort in knowing that Jesus Christ will catch us when we fall, and that he will allow us the time to rest and regain our strength to finish the climb and reach eternal life.

Why I am a Mormon

The word gospel literally means the good news of Jesus Christ. As I have been truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ through devoting time to faithfully seek and having a sincere desire to know, I have felt the perfect joy the good news brings to my life. I honestly love my savior Jesus Christ with all of my heart. His gospel brings the purest happiness. I am so grateful for Him and His perfect empathy. He feels and takes away my pains and rejoices in my every little joy. He is my center and I choose to be a Mormon because of Him.

How I live my faith

Faith is to have complete trust or confidence in someone or something. My faith is centered in Jesus Christ, and as such, I live my faith through him and by His perfect example. I have chosen to be a member in the great organization of the Relief Society, which is an organization of women who care about one another and provide relief to everyone by love and service. In addition, I give of myself each week to volunteer at a pediatric hospital in the service of adorable children who need a little joy in their lives. It is because of Jesus Christ that I live my faith.
