Hi I'm Ivette

I grew up in California. I'm a wife and mother of 2. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always felt that there really isn't much about me to share. I love being a stay-at-home mom, even on the bad days. I like to stay active through CrossFit exercises and some running. I enjoy going to the movies. I love food and in another life, I think I would LOVE to be food critic. I love to cook, travel and sometimes just hang out with a good show. I'm not really good about reading my scriptures, but thanks to technology I have found it easier to listen to them while getting the day started.

Why I am a Mormon

During my time investigating the church I wasn't sure where it was going to take me. I wasn't a very spiritual or religious person. I had grown up going to a Catholic school and we went to church every week. When I went to the Mormon church the first time, I was with a cousin and her family. I just wanted to spend some extra time with them that weekend and decided to go. The things I felt that day would forever change my life. I was excited and nervous at the same time. The Spirit of our Father in Heaven comforted me and I felt a peace I had never before felt. The missionaries came to my home and taught me things I knew where true. One of things I learned was eternal marriage, not marriage until death, but ETERNAL! This lead to know that life is eternal, it doesn't end when we die. This is an amazing gift from God.

How I live my faith

Because I am far from perfect, I live my faith one day at a time. Even though I mentioned that I am not good about reading my scriptures, another way has been made for me to do so. I teach Sunday school to the adult class. This job is actually fun and nerve racking at the same time. It has taken me out of my comfort zone and I am learning a lot as I teach. I have found when I surround myself with those that I have the most in common with, there's a sense of accountability that helps me to be faithful and obedient to the things that Heavenly Father has asked us to do.
