Hi I'm Shelby Lynne Taylor

I'm serving happily in the Kentucky Louisville Mission and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah. The youngest of four children, my mother passed away when I was 12 years old. I recently completed my freshman year at Utah State University. I am a member of Kappa Delta Sorority where I strive with my sisters each day for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest. I am a Political Science major, and I plan to add a minor in International Studies and a second major in Social Work to aid in my goals of giving foreign aid and humanitarian assistance across the globe. In partnership with my best friend, I started and am improving upon a program designed to build confidence, inspire altruistic service, and encourage the dreams and aspirations of middle school age girls.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am in need of a Savior. Every day I know I need the grace and love Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father so freely give. I am a Mormon, so that I can be with my family, with my mother, for time and all eternity. I am a Mormon because in know that this church is true, and I want you to know as well.

How I live my faith

Every day I strive to be worthy of the Holy Spirit, so that through promptings and providence I might be led to others whom I might help. Through compassion and service I hope to understand and emulate the love Christ has for all of us, that I might let his light so shine to all the world. I seek to love and support my sorority sisters that I might remind them of the christian values upon which our organization was built.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Shelby Lynne Taylor
To me, the Atonement of Jesus Christ means forgiveness and second chances. It means that Christ knows me, knows my sins, knows my struggles and loves me in spite of it all. It means that while he suffered and tarried alone in the Garden of Gethsemane, I never have to be alone. Jesus Christ suffered so that we may be forgiven, he dies so that we might live. All so that we might return to the glory of our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
