Hi I'm Kathleen

I am a working mother striving to balance career and family. I am an American living in France. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Although taught from a young child, there came a time when I needed to receive an independent confirmation of which church was true. I can relate to the Prophet Joseph Smith and his quest for truth amongst a world where there are many differing teachings. It was through personal study of the Book of Mormon, and acting upon its teachings, that I came to develop my testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I met my husband when we were teenagers. I was his waitress at a local restaurant. After dining at the restaurant, he asked me out on a date. After a few dates, we began to have more discussions about religion. I wanted him to know that I believed in Jesus Christ. I told to him how being a member of the LDS Church has brought me sincere happiness. I explained to him the standards we live by as a member of the Church, including not smoking and drinking, paying tithing, and observing the Sabbath Day. I did not anticipate that he would respond with genuine interest, and he began meeting with the missionaries. He was baptized as a member of the LDS Church six weeks later and served a two-year mission in South Africa. We were married in the Newport Beach, California temple and now have two young children. Educational opportunities have brought our family to move from California to outside of Paris, France.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read and experimented upon the teachings and have received an answer in my mind and heart that Jesus is the Christ and this is His church. I know that Book of Mormon is true and my testimony of the Book of Mormon is the foundation of my faith. My husband and I often discuss how the each experience, both trials and opportunities, has worked for our good in bringing us closer to Jesus Christ. Through living the Gospel teachings, I feel peace and assurance that there is purpose to my life and why I am here on earth. I know that I will be able to live with my family throughout eternity and return again to the presence of my Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I feel at peace knowing that my efforts can guide me along the path that my Heavenly Father has prepared for me. My husband and I enjoy studying and discussing the scriptures together. This allows us to apply the principals taught in the scriptures to our every day circumstances. We also find comfort in knowing that prayer can help us align our will with that of our Heavenly Father. We have received countless blessings, both temporal and spiritual, by applying scripture study and prayer in our daily lives.
