Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in a small rural town in Eastern Oregon, I love to hunt and fish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to hunt and fish in the mountains close to my home, I also love to snowboard at the resort in these beautiful mountains. I spend most of my spare time hanging out with my friends and listening to music. I work construction and fight wildland fires for a living. I enjoy both of my jobs and the time I get to spend outside learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the Mormon church. As I got older I wanted to know for myself if the church was true, so I began to study the scriptures and pray about it. I felt very good about the church. But the people at church sealed the deal for me. They are some the nicest and most selfless people I have met.

How I live my faith

I just received my mission call to the Washington DC south mission. I'm very excited for my opportunity to serve the people in that area.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Generally members of the church dress up for church. The men is shirts and ties and the women in dresses and skirts. If someone was to show up in jeans and a t shirt or some other casual apparel they wouldn't be asked to leave or anything. We are happy to have people come regardless of there clothes. From what I've seen of my friends of other faiths holidays we celebrate the same holidays in general the same way. We celebrate Easter, Christmas, Birthdays etc. Show more Show less
