Hi I'm Karissa

I am a baker, photographer, and traveler. I am a future missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Whether it is learning a recipe or traveling the world, I enjoy discovering new things wherever I go. I have a wonderful family who experiences these exciting adventures with me. I love my parents and three younger brothers very much. They bring so much happiness into my life. I have been blessed in many ways and I find things to be thankful for everyday. There is much good in the world, so I try to always look for the positive. One of my favorite quotes is, “Be so happy so that when others look at you they become happy too”. It makes me smile when I can help others be happier. Everyone deserves kindness.

Why I am a Mormon

Former President of the Church, Lorenzo Snow, once said, "The whole idea of Mormonism is improvement - mentally, physically, morally, and spiritually." Being a Mormon helps me to be better each day and to rise to my full potential. By obeying God's commandments and following the example of Jesus Christ, we can find true happiness. Nothing in this life has given me more joy than my faith in the gospel of Christ. It has blessed me in countless ways. I have met the wonderful people in my life, found opportunities to serve, and received guidance for my future because of the Church. The gospel provides us with the answers we need. I know that we can also receive answers when we pray. I have seen this happen in my life and I have come closer to my Heavenly Father through prayer. I know that if you ask with a sincere heart, He will answer any questions that you may have. I know that He listens and wants to help us. All we have to do is ask and wait for His answer. Even if it is not what we expect, He knows what is best for us. We must have faith.

How I live my faith

Through personal study of the scriptures and gospel doctrine I continue to learn each day. The knowledge I have gained has given me a desire to share the happiness it gives me with those I love. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have had many opportunities to serve others, both in and outside of church. Through service, I have gained a love for the people around me and for my Lord and Savior. As it says in Mosiah 2:17, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” Soon I will be serving a mission for the Church. I am eager to share the message of God's love with others and to bring happiness into their lives. This gospel is for everyone and I am blessed to have it in my life.
