Hi I'm Leah Jeppson

I'm a musician, artist, college student, missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Leah. :) I'm a fun, loving, musical young woman who loves reading, drawing, playing any kind of music, dancing, being a total dork with my friends, and a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I just finished my Freshman year at Brigham Young University - Idaho as a violin performance major. I've been a violinist for fifteen years, lead fiddler of my family band, The Wildflowers, along with playing piano, guitar, singing, and pretty much anything else musical I can. I also love to draw and paint with watercolors. My favorite things to draw are portraits and illustrations. If you see me, chances are I have a sketchbook tucked into my bag, with an unbelievable amount of pens and pencils. (You can never have too many! Right?...) I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my entire life, and I have a firm testimony of this Gospel. Over the past few months I have been working on preparing to serve as a missionary. I received my call to the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission on January 14th. I left on to serve for 18 months and to teach the gospel in Portuguese on March 18th. This mission so far has been one of the best experiences of my life, and I can say even firmer than ever before that I know that this church is true. No matter if I'm teaching a violin lesson, watching Doctor Who with my friends, or performing Mahler or Prokofiev in a symphony, I am always grateful to be a daughter of God. Love you all! Leah

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of this Church my entire life. I was baptized on November 30, 2002. I'm so grateful to have grown up with this Gospel in my life, and for having parents that were willing to help me learn and grow with the Lord by my side. Recently I've been working on really gaining my own testimony of this Church. I have seen the hand of the Lord countless times in my life, and the lives of those around me, lifting us, helping us, comforting us, and teaching us. Yes, there have been many struggles, pain, and sorrow, but I know that the Lord has been by my side the entire time. I know that this is the true restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know and testify that the Jesus Christ lives, and that He died for us, and atoned for our sins, so that we may return to our Heavenly Father. I know that God is our Father, that we are His children, and that He loves us more than we know, and that He is always, always, ready to help us, if we turn to Him. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet here on the earth today, and that he receives revelation from the Lord for us today. I know that I am a daughter of God, and that my Savior loves me.

How I live my faith

I love helping with the musical side of church. From playing the organ, to accompanying musical numbers, playing and singing with choirs, to accompanying hymns in church meetings. If there's something musical to do, I help out, and I love every minute of it! I love teaching and sharing my testimony. From teaching lessons in Relief Society to bearing my testimony in sacrament meeting, I think it's great. I've also been working more with genealogical work. What I've started to do is something called indexing. I'm still pretty new to it, but am loving it so far. I get to go through old documents and enter the information on them into an electronic system so that people looking for their ancestors have a better chance of finding them. It's amazing to be able to read and learn about these people. I wonder if I'll find one of my ancestors there one day... I'm also serving an 18 month mission in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission, Portuguese speaking. I've only been speaking Portuguese for five months, but it's really amazing the amazing the miracles God puts in your path when you have faith and do your very best. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is in every aspect of my life. It is the greatest asset, comfort, and foundation. I can truly testify of the truthfulness of this Gospel. I know that Jesus Christ lived and taught, and that He died and Atoned for all of us, that we may become clean and return to live with our Father in Heaven. I know that God loves us, and that He is with us always, if we just turn to Him.
