Hi I'm Jared Cannon

I'm from Arizona. I'm a rugby player. I'm a missionary in Chesapeake, Virginia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports! I played rugby for my high school. I played the eight man position on my team and i was one of the team captains. My senior year in highschool i helped lead my team to the state championship. Each year that i played rugby, my team voted me as the most valuable forward on my team. I am a huge college football fan. I rarely missed a ASU home football game back home. I love hiking. I have hiked the Grand Canyon twice, including hiking rim to rim in one day. I enjoy waterskiing and snow skiing. I use to play the alto saxophone, the tenor saxophone and the piano. I love my family. I have three sisters and one brother. Currently I am serving in the Virginia Chesapeake mission as a Spanish missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I have read the Book of Mormon many times over the course of my life. I have followed Moroni's promise at the end of Book of Mormon. I have prayed with the desire to know that this church was true, and I have received an answer that it was true. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. I know that He suffered in Gethsemane for my sins, and that through His sacrifice I can be forgiven of my sins. I know that he rose up on the third day, and that because of this, one day I will be resurrected and receive a perfect body. Temples allow my family to be sealed for eternity. This gives me much comfort in my life because I know that death cannot end my relationships with them.

How I live my faith

I now am a Spanish missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chesapeake Virginia. I have been out since July 2014 and will be returning in July 2016. Every day for the next two years, I go out into Virginia and North Carolina and share messages about Jesus Christ. My purpose as a missionary is: To invite people to come unto Christ and help them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
