Hi I'm Shane

I grew up in Washington State and am the first member of my family to serve a full time mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy mountain bike riding and hiking the mountains and trails of Utah. I love reading classic novels, such as Sherlock Holmes and Frankenstein. I am a Senior in college and will be graduating with my Bachelors in Psychology. I also enjoy cooking and coming up with new ideas all the time. I always enjoy getting out and meeting new people, because they are all children of our Heavenly Father, and are all interesting. I love missionary work and showing others the happiness and peace that this glorious gospel brings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy and happiness this gospel brings. I was a non-member for six years, and came back to the church because I saw my friends happy and always joyful. I looked into the church again, and while at a Lindsey Stirling concert at the Conference center she played Scotland the Brave, which is the tune to the Latter-day Saint hymn Praise to the man. It was during that concert I first felt the spirit tell me to continue in my journey. I continued after that to go to church, be active in my ward and by happy and joyful. I am a Mormon because I love our Heavenly Father and know he has a plan for all of us. He loves all of us, and I continue to follow His Gospel because I know its true and I know that by following the Lords Commandments and keeping the promises that are made, blessings are to come. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith translated it. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ was necessary for everyone to be forgiven of their sins, and for everyone of Gods children to return to Him. I know this Church is the only true Church and that it brings peace and love.

How I live my faith

I am active in my ward and hold a calling in which I get the chance to always meet new people, and make everyone feel invited and be a friend to everyone. I organize events during the week for anyone who wants to just have fun, play some games, and enjoy friendships. I go home teaching to the members, and enjoy going around and telling people about the gospel. I am currently on a mission and am going to the Philippines, Quezon City mission. I will be speaking Tagalog and am excited to go out and teach this amazing gospel to the people of the Philippines.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons help everyone and anyone. What I love about the church is that they help everyone no matter who they are. The church enjoys spreading love and joy to everyone, and showing that everyone is a child of God and everyone deserves to be helped and to feel loved. Show more Show less
