Hi I'm Jane

I was born in New York and grew up in south Texas. I was a school bus driver for special needs students. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, also a daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt,friend. I am a veteran of the Viet Nam war era. I have traveled to a foreign country and lived there for three years. It was an experience of a life time to see how others live and how they celebrated Christmas. In many ways they are just like us. The only differences where the language, road signs, and the way of doing business on the weekends(they closed their business up at 1pm on Saturday and opened up on Monday. I like to fish, surf the internet, work on my family history(genealogy).

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because my brother-in-law asked me the question, did I want a forever family? The answer was yes and I have been very happy with that decision. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I tried other religions and there was something missing that I found in the Mormon church. I am a part of a large family and feel like I am now on the inside looking out instead of the other way around. I know who I am and why I am here and where I will go when this mortal life is completed. I know that Heavenly Father loves all of his children unconditionally and He is just waiting to be asked into our lives. He will not force Himself on us. He gave us our agency to decide for ourselves what we wanted to do. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and you can know for yourself. All you need to do is read the book with a prayer in your heart and God will let you know the truth. Jesus is the Christ. He came to this earth to fulfill His mission as our Savior. No one else could do it. He could have said I can't do this, but He didn't. He drank of the bitter cup and finished the process by dying on the cross. In the garden, he learned how to succor His people by taking all our anguish, pains, sins, infirmities and all that we would experience in this life and He did that for everyone of Heavenly Father's children who have ever lived, are now living or who will yet come to this earth. I know that I tremble at the thought of all of that just for myself and I seriously doubt that I could handle that kind of pain and anguish. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that Jesus Christ used him to restore His church to the earth with all the keys of the priesthood and names His church The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Why add "of Latter-Day Saints" to the title? Because these are the latter days and this is the dispensation of the fullness of times. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I am a substitute teacher for 6 & 7 year olds. I am involved in the indexing program which is taking information from other sources and typing it into a software program that will allow the information to be accessed by anyone for searching for their ancestors. It is exciting and fulfilling.
