Hi I'm Wyatt

I attend Ignacio High School, I believe the Bible is literally true and scientifically accurate in every single detail .I'm Momon

About Me

I go to Ignacio High School. I am so lucky to be blessed with such an awesome community that I live in. I enjoy riding my bike long distances, this brings peace to my mind. I love watching and playing sports as any teenager loves to do.I am interested in defending my faith against the scoffers and skeptics of the day

Why I am a Mormon

I love the story of Joseph Smith that no church on earth answered the most pressing questions of life, so he asked God for guidance just like how it reads in James 1:5-6 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave driven with the wind and tossed." I think we should do the same thing if we ask God for guidance, he would help us. The Church of Jesus Christ is not a building but with in all the members within the churches that invite him in. I've also seen a lot of critics attack the church even so much as dedicating 2 Sundays trying to insult the church. I think with this persecution, the church is getting stronger.

How I live my faith

I have read the entire Book of Mormon, D&C and Pearl of Great Price. Right now I am watching Young Earth Creationist materials (Answers in Genesis, Creation Today, Institute for Creation Research and others) material so I can better defend my faith against the scoffers and skeptics because the Bible says "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" 1 Peter 3:15 I particularly became interested in this subject after watching the Bill Nye vs Ken Ham debate which really inspired me to start studying the subject in depth, because of that I am passionate about apologetics.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Wyatt
Well Adam and Eve took from the tree of knowledge of good and evil because they were flattered by the devil, so God drove them out of his presence. "well how does that relate to us?" Well you could say that its written in our genetic code to sin Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" God cant accept sinners into heaven. But there is a way back to heaven and it is through Jesus' blood and all we have to do is ask John 3:16 "¶For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Romans 10:9-10 9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." We are saved by doing that but what's next being is being baptized to show the world that you are in relationship with Christ then telling the world how to get saved Matthew 28:19-20 "¶Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Learn and grow in his word 2 Nephi 31:20. Show more Show less

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Wyatt
This is a pretty sticky question and a question which antimormons cling to. At the end of Revelation we read that we should not add or take away from the Bible. The question you need to ask your self is this "is the Book of Mormon really adding to the bible?". Let me tell you my thoughts on this issue.First I believe the Bible to be the complete inerrant word of God like all Christians. Second the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ not meant to add to what the Bible already teaches. Third the Book of Mormon clarifies all the teachings of the bible. Fourth we can have the Bible without the Book of Mormon but we cant have Book of Mormon without the Bible. Now this is off subject a little but people may ask "there are so many versions of the Bible, which one is the correct one?" we accept the KJV "Why?" to answer this question im going to show you some verses that are in the king james that are changed in the modern bibles Matthew: 17:21, 23:14 Mark: 9:44/46, 11:26, 15:28, 16:9–20, Luke: 17:36, 23:17, John: 5:3–4, 7:53-8:11, Acts: 8:37, 15:34, 24:6 etc. I think the reason we have the Book of Mormon is because people are trying to mess up the bible and God wants to give us a second chance to understand his word. I urge you to read use the bible (KJV) as the foundation of faith and build upon it the Book of Mormon. The bible says 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Wyatt
Antimormons claim that the Book of Mormon is Galatians 1:8 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." and Revelation 22:18 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." The Book of Mormon does not add or take away from the words of the bible but clarifies them teaching for teaching. I believe the Book of Mormon is a second chance for people to understand the words of God with so many English translations of the bible around but the only translation of the Book of Mormon is the one Joseph Smith translated. What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Wyatt
Well there are two very good verses that describe that Psalms 29:1 and Alma 30:44. This question is very prevalent to our culture today, because of everyone trying to subtract God out of everything. I would like to tell you a story that of one of the most famous scientists of all time on God ("Newton's atheist-scientist friend came by for a visit. Seeing the model, he was naturally intrigued, and proceeded to examine it with undisguised admiration for the high quality of the workmanship. My, what an exquisite thing this is!" he exclaimed. "Who made it?" Paying little attention to him, Sir Isaac answered, "Nobody." Stopping his inspection, the visitor turned and said, "Evidently you did not understand my question. I asked who made this." Newton, enjoying himself immensely no doubt, replied in a still more serious tone, "Nobody. What you see just happened to assume the form it now has." "You must think I am a fool!" the visitor retorted heatedly, "Of course somebody made it, and he is a genius, and I would like to know who he is!" Newton then spoke to his friend in a polite yet firm way: "This thing is but a puny imitation of a much grander system whose laws you know, and I am not able to convince you that this mere toy is without a designer or maker; yet you profess to believe that the great original from which the design is taken has come into being without either designer or maker! Now tell me by what sort of reasoning do you reach such an incongruous conclusion?") Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Wyatt
NO Mormons don't practice polygamy but you might ask "what about the FLDS they do it" my answer is they are not Mormons the differences between LDS vs FLDS run deeper than just plural marriage its kinda long I was lucky enough to talk to this former FLDS girl and she explained to me what they do there and I was lead to draw my own conclusions from that, its kinda too long to put in here but if you want to talk to me more about it find me on facebook. Or if you want more information on how the church stopped doing polygamy, you can read Official Decoration 1 located in the Doctrine and Covenants. Show more Show less
