Hi I'm Layne Wixom

I am an inspiration-seeking, mess-making, food-creating, outdoor-enthusiast, girl just living the life. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am Layne; a food-creating, mess-making, enterntainment-giving, crossfit-attempting, outdoor-enthusiast who loves learning and Nutella. I grew up in Las Vegas in my family of six strong-minded, independent daughters that raised by two dramatic and incredible parents. This is where I learned my colors from looking at the Stratosphere at night and where I developed a love/hate relationship with heat. When I was 6 I had a distaste for clothing (which hasn't entirely left) and went streaking through my neighborhood. When I was 8 I flooded a toilet during school because I did not want to take a test (my mother decided to home-school me for the following year). When I was 12 I wanted to be a Federal Court Judge and became enamored with ethnic foods. When I was 15 I really fell in-love with education and learned that every person has a story worth hearing. When I was 16 I discovered the outdoors (specifically climbing) and was introduced to Nutella. Both have held my heart ever sense. When I was 17 I figured out I hated politics, so my goal I set as a 12 year old was shattered. I went with being a therapist instead. At 20, I am currently attending Brigham Young University-Idaho where, along with being twitter-pated by the outdoors , I am studying Psychology and Emergency Care/Outdoor Recreation with the hopes of becoming a Clinical Wilderness Therapist. I love elephants, respect authenticity, and highly believe in cayenne pepper.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know my Savior lives and that this is His true and living church on the earth. I am mormon because it has given me the knowledge and promise of eternal families. I am mormon because I make and keep covenants with our loving Father in Heaven so I can return to Him. I am mormon because I know it, I love it, and I live it, and because doing so has made my life full of happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting on my beliefs. I am certainly not perfect at it, but everyday I strive to do and be better at following my savior, Jesus Christ.
