Hi I'm Heather

I'm a wife and mother. I love to write and ballroom dance, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up mostly in Texas and was part of my high school marching band as a flute player. I love music, cooking, and ballroom dancing, sometimes combining all three together. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a degree in English. I love to write poetry and stories, especially about the gospel and nature. I love to be out in nature and feel the power and peace of God's creations around me. I have a wonderful husband who loves to make me laugh and two beautiful children.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the doctrine taught (Christ's doctrine) just makes sense to me. It makes sense logically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have felt the Holy Ghost confirming the truth of His gospel many times in my life. Truth will make sense both in our minds and our hearts. I have found this to be correct in my life, both in learning secular knowledge and the gospel and also in making important decisions. Living Christ's gospel makes me happy. The gospel is not just a list of what to do and not do.It's about becoming like God and Christ, and it has become who I am. The whole Plan of Happiness is about marriages and families now and for the eternities. This is why temple ordinances and priesthood authority and power are so important, and I am forever grateful that I can be sealed to my family forever if we keep our covenants. I know I am Heavenly Father's daughter, and He does care for and love me. I feel His love for me often, and I know He knows my name. He knows my heart, my struggles, fears, pains, weaknesses, strengths, and how to help me grow to become like Him. Knowing who I am and who He can help me become influences how I try to live my life. I want to obey God and His Son because I love Them. I feel peace and joy, knowing that I am following His plan for me. My Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. He will heal us if we will follow Him and let Him in.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church with my family, and I help with the compassionate service needs of the sisters in our congregation. I enjoy serving and helping those around me, even if it's little things like a smile, a kind note, or a dinner. I love being a wife and mother, even on the hard days, knowing that I am fulfilling my divine roll as His daughter. I read and study the scriptures, pray, teach my children, and we spend time together as a family. I also love attending the LDS temples, where I can feel His peace and love while performing in ordinances for those who have died.
