Hi I'm Samuel Peel

I'm a student, I'm a missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in Athens, Greece. I am loving every minute of it and growing every day. I come from a loving family, I am the oldest of 4 children - I have 3 younger sisters- and love spending time with them all. After my mission I will study Pharmacology at Manchester University where I will continue to be a faithful follower of my Saviour Jesus Christ. I love sport, reading and just learning in general!

Why I am a Mormon

I have received a witness of the reality of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. This Atonement is a gift from my Saviour without which I could not be where I am today! Through this gift and the miracle of the sacrament I have the opportunity to be forgiven of my mistakes and be made a new person through Jesus Christ. I know this to be true because of the peace that I feel, knowing that I am a worthy representative of the Lord. I know of the blessings that personal prayer can bring. There are countless times that I have been in need of guidance, however big or small and Heavenly Father has helped me know what to do. This has ranged from decisions about what subjects to take at school, through to serving a mission. My favourite restored truth that we have through the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in it's brilliant simplicity is that families can be together forever. I love my family, and the peace that it brings to me to know that no matter what happens, as we are worthy of the blessing, we will be together again after this life. This knowledge is most precious to me and I give gratitude to my Heavenly Father for it.

How I live my faith

As one of the only members of the church at my school (the other is my younger sister), I had lots of opportunities to talk to other people about my faith and the way I live my life. I have been blessed to never find this difficult, and have always been guided as to how to answer the questions my friends have. My friends have been able to see how much of a difference the gospel makes in my life and how it makes me a better person. I have continued in that vain during my missionary, I love sharing this wonderful message of hope in anyway that I can, if it is in a smile or even in a discussion. Inviting others to act and trying my best to be a 'living epistle' of Christ is where I find my greatest satisfaction.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Samuel Peel
As Mormons, we believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father and we are His children. He has a perfect body of flesh and bone and wants us to become like Him. We refer to Him as our 'Heavenly Father' because He is the Father of our spirits and we are literally His spirit children. With that special relationship in mind, He wants to help us and communicate with us. We can communicate with Him through sincere prayer. He will answer our prayers in His time and in His way, but He will always answer them. God our Heavenly Father has provided us with a perfect plan to return and live with Him with our families, if we trust in His plan and timing and we are obedient to all that He has commanded, we will be blessed and have joy in this life and eternal life in the life to come. God is a perfect being who loves us perfectly, He will only do what is best for us on an eternal perspective. If we follow His commandments we will have true happiness, this is the only way in which we can find it. Show more Show less
