Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in Utah, and have lived a total of 5 years in Brazil. I love running, hiking, and Ultimate Frisbee. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old, single, and am a full-time student attending Brigham Young University. I love most everything outdoors, especially hiking, camping, and running. I love singing and participating in musical/theatrical productions. And I LOVE playing Ultimate Frisbee. I love reading and libraries and books, and studying too, especially the scriptures and the words of the living-day prophets. I grew up in Provo, UT, and when I was 12, my dad was called to serve as a full-time mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our whole family moved to Recife, Brazil, where we lived for 3 years. Then we returned to Provo, where I finished high school and began college. Then I served for 2 years as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Curitiba, Brazil. Those years of volunteer service provided me with experiences and shaped me in ways that will forever influence who I am and what I become.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the covenant. This means that when I was born, my parents were already members of the Savior's Church. I was brought up and taught that God has a plan for the happiness and well-being of each of His children. At the age of eight, I took upon me the name of Christ and was baptized and confirmed into His Church. I have a testimony of God and His plan and my Savior Jesus Christ - this means that I believe, feel, know that these things are true. I know that God really does exist, and that he truly did send His Son Jesus Christ to be my Savior and Redeemer. I know that, through Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my sins, I can feel at peace with myself, I can be strengthened, I can be healed. And one day, because of Him, I will rise from the grave and be resurrected with a perfect, glorified body of flesh and bones, and I will no more feel pain or sickness. Through prayer, and by the power of the Holy Ghost, I have come to know that the Book of Mormon is true. That means that it literally is a record of ancient scripture that contains Christ's words that were given to and through the prophets that He called to teach His people. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true and living church on the face of the earth. It is the only church that has authority to perform sacred ordinances that are necessary for salvation, such as baptism. This has been revealed to me through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the head of His Church, and he guides it through living-day prophets and apostles. I know that the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a prophet of God! He is as much of a prophet as was Moses and Enoch and Jeremiah of old, and when he speaks, it is as if Jesus Christ himself were speaking. And so... why am I a Mormon? Because it's true - I know that. I have experienced firsthand the happiness and joy and peace that come when one follows the Savior Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as employment specialist in my local Church unit. I help the members in my unit to become self-sufficient by helping, encouraging, and enabling them to seek out employment. I also visit several members to verify their spiritual and physical well-being, and I strive to help them with whatever their necessities are.
