Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in California, playing soccer and performing the violin. I love adventures and spending time with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm just an average girl who loves to play soccer and sing and dance (not well of course). I attended my freshman year of college at Brigham Young University and am leaving on my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Peru.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and only want the best for me. Every time I attend Church meetings or read the Book of Mormon or get on my knees to pray, I can feel their love for me. I know that Christ suffered and died for me. He did for me what no one else could. I know that through His sacrifice I can be cleansed and made clean again when I mess up. He knows me and understands how I feel because He, too, has felt those things. I am a Mormon because I know He lives, and that He loves me. His love is real and each one of us can feel it. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon for myself and have prayed to know that it is true--and the answer has come, over time, that it is. As I have come to learn more and grow, I have found peace and solace and joy in my testimony and in my faith and I know that everyone can feel that too.

How I live my faith

I have been very involved with my ward as I have grown up. As a youth, I participated in a ton of activities put on by different Church organizations. We have a weekly activities night for youth which has both helped me solidify my values and strengthen different relationships. I have had the opportunity to be on committees planning youth summer camps and in a presidency for young women from ages 12 to 18. In college I was called to visit 2 other girls in my ward and every month I had the chance to share an uplifting message with them and to get to know them even better. Through this calling I was able to create friendships I would not have otherwise had.
