Hi I'm Miriam

I grew up around Portland, Oregon. I am 18 years old, I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old. I have nine siblings, five brothers and four sisters. My favorite place to be is at home, where I can spend time with family. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of seventeen during my senior year of High School. I like to read, work, and various other things. I will be serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints starting in September of 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ, restored on the Earth today has brought me immense joy. I grew up in the church and I love it. I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know the gospel is true. I know that Christ lived, he established his Church, he atoned for our sins, and died for us. I know that because of Him we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. I know that God is there, and that he loves each and everyone of us. I know that after Christ left the earth that the gospel was lost and distorted and that in the 1800s Joseph Smith Jr. prayed and received an answer. I know he saw God the Eternal Father and his Son Jesus Christ and he restored the true Church of Jesus Christ here on the Earth. I know that the power of God is here on the Earth and that the Priesthood is his power manifested through his servants here on earth. I have felt the power of Priesthood blessings, it is amazing and shows God's love for his Children. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's Church here on Earth, I have felt and continue to feel the presence of the Holy Ghost in my life. That is why I am and I will continue to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I believe the most important way I live my faith is in caring for others. I try to have Charity, the pure love of Christ at all times. I go to church every Sunday for three hours, the first hour is Sacrament meeting and during the second and third hour I teach some of the three turning four year olds. I start out every day by reading scriptures for at least a half an hour. Soon I will be spending all my time in serving the Lord. I will be serving as a missionary in Florida for eighteen months and will be inviting others to come unto Christ.
