Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Washington, I am a gymnast, I play the viola, I love baking cookies, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first year at Brigham Young University, majoring in Accounting. I am the last child of 6 kids: I have 4 brothers and 1 sister. I did gymnastics all through middle school and high school. I have played the viola since 5th grade, and played the piano since I was 5. I love baking cookies and playing badminton, and I also love watching movies with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born into an LDS family, I always grew up in the church. It wasn't until my first year at college that my testimony was truly tested and strengthened. Throughout high school I knew the standards and principles of the church and I casually followed them, but I didn't necessarily know why it was important for me. When I got to Brigham Young University, I didn't have anyone I knew near me. This was the time I had to rely on my own faith to make decisions. This was the hardest year of my life. I spent many nights bawling and praying to receive comfort. I made dumb mistakes and I felt the consequences spiritually. However, my testimony of my Savior's love for me grew immensely through this rough year. I now know without a shadow of doubt that the atonement is real. I know that through the atonement we can feel true happiness. After continuous prayer, I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. I am a Mormon because I have felt the power that comes from living the standards of the church, and I have never been happier.

How I live my faith

I was in leadership in high school, where I got the opportunity to serve my fellow classmates and those in need in our community through fundraisers such as collecting cans on Halloween instead of candy. I participated in the Tacoma Youth Symphony for 5 years. I am currently teaching the young children in our church, and my job is to show my love for them as well as God's love.
