Hi I'm Jocelyn

People call me Joss Boss. I try not to take life too seriously. I love my family more than anything! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I'm currently serving a full-time mission in the Rancho Cucamonga, California Mission. I love to play in soccer and volleyball leagues with friends. I love watching TV/movies. New girl has to be my favorite comedy TV show of all time. I can't go one episode with out literally laughing out loud. I love music! All kinds of it! I play the piano (not very well but I can hold my own) and love learning fun versions of current songs. I love campfires in the summer, and sweaters and hot cocoa in the winter. I love my family more than anything! We are a stone cold pack of weirdos and I couldn't be more proud!

Why I am a Mormon

People often hear that I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah and quickly jump to the conclusion that I'm a Mormon because I grew up there. While that's a good guess, it's not the reason why I'm a Mormon. Even those who grow up in the church have to gain a testimony, or belief, in the gospel for themselves. I reached a point in my life where I knew that I couldn't borrow faith from my family anymore. I knew that I needed to study the gospel for myself and figure out what it meant to me. After many years of searching, and going through many trials that have tested my faith, I came to a knowledge that living life according to His gospel standards brings me the most happiness. Instead of feeling held back, fearful, and dissatisfied, I feel confident, hopeful, and accomplished. I feel free from the guilt of past mistakes. I have the confidence to move past hard times and to progress in life. I know that I can do anything I put my mind to as long as I work hard. I'm happy with who I am. I am a daughter of God. That knowledge keeps me moving. If He is on my side, who can be against me?

How I live my faith

My faith influences everything I do. I do everything I can to follow the perfect example of my Savior Jesus Christ. I try to be honest in my dealings with those around me. I put my family first and cherish the relationships I have with them. I look for opportunities to serve others because I know that a life full of service is a happy life. I'm fortunate enough to be serving a full time mission for my church. My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Jesus Christ and to teach people about His gospel that has been restored to the earth by the love of God. I put my life on hold for 18 months so that I could go out into the world and share the gospel with others. I'm grateful for the opportunity to explain to others how the gospel has molded my life and how it is the main source of my happiness and hope for a bright future.
