Hi I'm Esperanza aka Hopie Guedea

Hello!! I am a student majoring in Science. I am an IBO. My family is the most important thing in my life and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

I am going to school to get my nursing degree. I love to help people and I also love animals. I live with my parents, my two younger brothers and my older sister along with her husband. Yes, I must say it is sometimes crowded and there are a few times where there's a line to go to the bathroom lol Some of my hobbies would be singing, movies, games, and spending time with my family and friends. I also love to go to my church's dances and activities, those are really fun, especially the dances because I love to dance. I am a Mormon, I got baptized when I was 17 years old along with my two younger brothers. I've been a member for about 6 years now and I'm the only active member of my family. I am so grateful for the Lord's plan he has for me and I know he loves me very much. I have gotten closer to him and have learned to feel his presence with me through trials in my life. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true restored gospel here on this earth, i have received many blessings from seeking and helping others find the truth that is here on this earth again. That is why i have decided to serve a full time mission to bring those souls that are lost back into the presence of our loving Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

Back ago when i was about 5 years old we had some Sister Missionaries knock on our door, we let them in and they started to teach my family. We then asked them what church were they from and they told us that they are from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At that time my parents got baptized and then from that time we moved to another city and we somehow lost touch of the church. The church found us again around when i was 17 years old. It was a life changing decision i had made for myself. I loved all the lessons and i knew that this was the restored gospel of Jesus Christ that was once lost and found again. Everything made sense to me and i had to ponder for myself to know if all of this was true, so i did and i received my answer. At that time the Holy Ghost confirmed to me that this is where i am supposed to be and that everything comes in the Lords time not your time. That was something hard i couldn't understand but it's very true. One of my favorite things that stuck out to me when i was getting taught by the missionaries was that families could be together for all eternity. That was a great gift the Lord has given us, not till death do us apart, but for eternity. Another great gift that i learned was that we could one day become like our Heavenly Father, WOW!! I was speechless in that moment. That great blessing could come if we are obedient, worthy, and live our lives towards following the teachings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to have received this message from the missionaries, it couldn't have came in a better time. I love being a Mormon :)

How I live my faith

My faith has grown so much, in a way i can't even imagine. I attend church every Sunday to renew my baptismal covenants (promises) i have made with God and my Savior. We have callings in our church which helps our church to function well, some would be Sunday school teacher, librarian, etc. I have had some great callings in the church. I learn and grow so much as an individual and i get to feel more the spirit and i also feel the love that the Lord has for me for accepting those callings. One of my favorite callings was being able to teach the four year olds. I would take home the lessons and study and prepare for the following Sunday to come to teach them, one of my great techniques i would use to get their attention would be to have them act the stories out. Along with teaching them i would learn so much from them and the lessons because i was a new member at the time, i only new the basics or so i can say. It was great!! I do my daily scripture studies when i find the time or when i need it the most, I pray and ask the Lord to help me understand the scriptures because sometimes i don't understand anything of what they are saying. Of course we all have that problem and it is very comforting to know you are not alone, our Heavenly Father will always be there to help you. I also attend the Temple regularly, it's the most sacred peacefulness place you can ever enter. It is the house of the Lord, you can find hope, love, peace, answers, and most importantly you can do the work of the Lord there. I live my faith by servicing my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and his fellow men that are here on this earth as well as those who have passed.
