Hi I'm Alice Marlana

I grew up in a small town, went to College an hour away from home, was called to serve a mission in Rancagua Chile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In 6th grade I started doing school plays. I am built smaller than average and every year the play director cast me as the large lady and would have to stuff me with pillows to fit the role. Even after this awkward stuffing fiasco, I learned to really love acting. I continued doing plays throughout school and ended up with the lead role my senior year. I joined community plays, and I helped understudies learn their lines. I have always loved being in leadership position and organizations. I was the secretary of almost every club available in High School. I was also the class vice president, Student Council Secretary/Treasurer, and head chair of the Community Service Committee. I love talking with people and making them feel comfortable and like they belong to something. I like having fun and I love to dance! I tried cheer-leading but found it wasn't for me. Instead, I joined soccer, and track. I love to run, and I love to be a part of a team. I come from a large family, and I absolutely love everyone of them! They've helped shape me into who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16 years old I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. Four months later, several of my family members were baptized as well. I love the feeling of having a purpose and a plan to progress to be able to live with Heavenly Father again. I love the overwhelming feeling of love I receive from my family and church leaders. I have never felt such happiness in my life as I do in this church. I am so grateful for the missionaries who taught me, and I can't wait to do the same for others! July 30th 2014 I officially start my mission to share the gospel with others, and bring them to the happiness that I have found. I will serve in Rancagua, Chile, and I am preparing to teach in the Spanish language. I am so happy that I get to spend eternity with my family! I love this gospel. I love sharing my testimony with others. And I know that my savior loves me, and he is proud of the decision I have made.

How I live my faith

When I graduated High School, I moved away from home to go to Collage. I was nervous and scared that I wouldn't make any friends. Soon as I started going to church however, I knew that wasn't going to be a problem. When I walked into the church building I was greeted by so many friendly faces that I had never seen before. Looking back now it's funny to think I had no idea that those people would soon become my best friends. The Bishop put me in charge of a small group of young single adults one night a week. My job was to teach a short lesson and play games with them. Because I was new, I was nervous to be in charge. However, my experience in leadership positions soon helped me learn to love my calling and really love the people I was teaching. I want to live my life for God. I don't want to just show my love for him on Sundays at church. This Church brings truth, light, and happiness to my life. I choose to live my standards by being an example to others so that they may see how happy I am because I have the fullness of the gospel restored to my life. Like a quote I once read, "live so that those who know you, and don't know Him, will want to know Him because they know you."
