Hi I'm Adriana

I'm an adventure seeker, math loving, music enthusiast. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working and attending school and I love it. I am majoring in Criminal Justice and dream about practicing law one day. I'm pretty outgoing and love any type of adventure. I'm always up for something new. Sports have always been a big part of my life. I love football, tennis, and basketball, although I'm too short to make a basket! My sister and I are the only members in our family, and although it's tough at times, I love them with all of my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in Mexico wasn't raised in the church, but my mother always made sure my sister and I had a relationship with our Heavenly Father. She didn't raise us in one specific religion because she believed that, when the time was right, we would choose our own religion. She taught us to pray and to listen to the promptings we received because she believed in the Lord, but I didn't fully understand a lot back then. The missionaries started teaching my sister and I and asked if we would get baptized. We both accepted, but the day before our baptism, I didn't feel ready and decided not to get baptized. I had so many questions and concerns and I didn't feel ready, so I did what I had to do. I turned to my Father in Heaven and humbled myself. After reading the Book of Mormon and learning more about the Church, I knew it was true. I had never been so sure about anything else in my life. Everything about it made sense and I finally felt the love our Heavenly Father has for all of us. I was so glad my mother gave my sister and I our agency. We were able to choose what religion to join and I am extremely grateful for that. I converted to the church on July 12th, 2008 and that has been my best decision so far. I love this Gospel so much and I love our Father in Heaven. He truly knows us. He has helped me so much throughout my life and I am truly blessed to be a member of this true Church. At times, I feel like my burdens are too much to bear, but I am reminded in Joshua 1:9 to "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest."

How I live my faith

I try my best to truly study my scriptures and get closer to my Heavenly Father. I attend institute every Monday and Family Home Evening with the YSA and I love it! I have learned a lot, but I know I have a long way to go. I think one of the best ways to get closer to Him is to serve others around you, so I volunteer and tutor young adults in Math and sometimes English. They truly help me and have taught me to love unconditionally.
