Hi I'm Ryan Knight

I grew up on Ogden UT. I love my family and outdoor recreational activities and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to an amazing woman, we have two children that are both a bundle of joy (when they want to be). Our kids love animals, and their favorite thing to do right now is to pretend to be a horse or dog, when they get tired of playing horse or dog, they move onto playing whatever animal they most recently saw on Wild Kratts (today a roadrunner, tomorrow probably a hippo). Needless to say, we have our fair share of kids pants with holes in the knees. I work in digital marketing, including media buying, social, and paid search; I love what I do, the people I work with and the challenge of using both the right and left side of the brain. I have participated in a few mud runs with members of our ward and have enjoyed the time to train and compete. We now have our sites set on a Sprint or Olympic triathlon - start with the short version so I don't die while swimming :-).

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church but was very indifferent about religion growing up. It wasn't until I was 18, when a bishop gave me a challenge, and I accepted the challenge, to read The Book of Mormon, that I became converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I can remember very clearly where I was sitting in our home, what the weather was like outside and exactly what verse in The Book of Mormon I read when I felt an overwhelming confirmation from the spirit that God lives and that He loves each one of His children (including me) here on earth. At that point I made the decision that I would turn my life around and strive to be a true follower of Jesus Christ. I have not regretted that decision.

How I live my faith

Currently I a serving as a Bishop in our ward, which allows me to be very engaged in my faith through my calling, nearly every day of the week. There is always an opportunity to visit or call someone to try to lift them up; or to go to a meeting to learn how to improve personally. My wife is definitely my driving force for striving to be the best person I can be. She frequently tells me that she loves and trusts me and I never want to do anything to lose that love or betray that trust. In order to protect against the loss of either of these things, I've found that I must study the scriptures and pray every day, attend church each week and include my family in these activities as well. It is always a humbling experience to know and experience the way the Lord watches over and directs those that seek to learn His word and do His will. I have seen this many times in my life.
