Hi I'm Danielle

I like curls, pearls, and the Oxford comma. & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a firm believer in sailor striped shirts, handwritten thank-you notes, and coconut cream cake. I have a love for the deep south and hairspray that holds curly hair in the 100% humidity of Texas. For me, Sunday mornings are the best time of day, and a classic Grace Kelly movie with kettle-cooked popcorn is how I like to spend my Saturday nights. I plan to study Broadcast Journalism at BYU after serving for 18 months in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission. I love my family, the Lord, and His gospel with all of my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into this church, I still had to make the choice for myself I wanted to commit to being a full-time member. Throughout the years, I have been given immense opportunities to learn and to gain a testimony, and because I could feel both the witness of the spirit and an overwhelming sense of happiness every time I searched for answers - I have decided to take action and continue to work towards becoming a true follower of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that God lives, and that He knows our daily experiences. Heavenly Father and the Savior work together to guide us through our lives, to bring us to trials and tests, but also to bring us through them and love us in the process. In my own life, I've seen and felt the hand of God pulling me to knowledge, love, and the truth. I know the restored gospel I believe in today is the same as the gospel as Jesus Christ had when He walked the earth. I know Joseph Smith was an inspired prophet who faced impossible challenges to bring about the Book of Mormon. I know that whatever this gospel entails - I believe it - I have faith in its peace and happiness. My testimony is a blessing to me, to my family, and those who I hope to serve.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good example. The gospel of Jesus Christ is all about becoming like Him; therefore, I live my faith by doing what he would do - whether it's in the community, in my own home, or at church. Sometimes it's really hard in society today to live up to the potential that we are each given - music, media, and other influences can get in the way. However, when I decided I needed to become a better disciple of Christ, I found that my faith became a part of me. My faith is shown by how I dress, how I show respect to my teachers in school, how I keep my language or music clean. I like to ask myself this question - what would I be doing if the Savior stood beside me? As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I show my faith by being who I am - a daughter of God.
