Hi I'm Mckenzie

I grew up in New Jersey, East Coaster thru and thru . I have a passion and for the performing arts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college student and soon to be serving as missionary for the church.I was born and raised in New Jersey and love the place that I'm from, it has shaped me into the person that I am today (East Coast Best Coast!) . I have two loving parents who are divorced, but support me in everything I do, they are my rocks and have always taught me to work hard and value serving others. I discovered a love of theatre in my freshman year of high school when a friend suggested I try out for the school musical. I discovered a love for the craft acting, the use of spontaneity and creativity and have even dicovered a new love for working backstage. There are multiple things I love about theatre but one thing I love most of all is that theatre can capture a human experience, and through capturing that, it can bring you as an audience member on an adventure that will make feel many emotions and usually if done right can convey a powerful moral or message. Beside theatre I also have a love of music, I listened to almost everything from rock to jazz to spanish music. My parents have given me this love of music and everyday it continues to grow. All in all I have a deep love for my family and have had a crazy life but I wouldn't have had it any other way!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my whole life, but I didn't truly believe it was true until I was about fourteen, this church unlike any other allows you to use your agency. The invitation is always the same read for yourself and ask God if it is true, and that is what I did at the age of fourteen. It wasn't all at once and there was nothing extraordinary about it, but the spirit spoke to me softly almost as if it were talking to a child and it whispered to my soul and told me that I was loved and it that all of this was true. I can't deny that these expierences happened to me and also I can't deny feelings which have made stop and think, God is aware of ALL of his children and knows the struggles we have. That is why the gospel is here because it lets us feel loved and included, no one goes through this mortal journey alone we are always being watched over and cared for by our Heavenly Father and his angels which he sends to us in our time of need. This type of love you feel from your Heavenly Father is REAL, and he doesn't care how perfect or inperfect you are, his love is inmeasurable and sometimes cannot be described. But through this gospel and knowing God's love is there we can make it out of any trial or test, we can know that everything is okay and that God has plans for us, big plans, plans so big it could make your head spin! We each have a divine purpose here on this earth, EVERY PERSON matters and God won't leave us behind, come to him with your concerns, desires, fears and questions he wants to hear from you. This gospel is true and real, Joseph Smith is a prophet of God who restored his church here on earth in the latter days, the Book of Mormon is the Word of God which lets us hear his voice through his chosen servants, I know this is all true because I have seen it in my life almost everyday and have prayed and studied it out to know if it was true and it is! I leave this my personal testimony with you in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

How do I live my Faith? I have had many oppourunities to serve in my church as a leader in the youth programs that are provided, I got to organize events to raise money for the young women of our church so we could afford to go to camp in the summer as a group. Along with fundraisers for the young women I got to also help organize Mormon Prom which is for youth ages 16-18 in the church and their friends (mormon Prom is basically like prom, its a lot of fun:). The best time serving was as the musical chorister for four years at church. For about four years every sunday I got to lead the music for our church services a lot of people viewed it as a small job but I can assure you it wasn't, I feel the music for the meetings really sets the tone for how the meeting will flow and music also is a great gateway for the spirit to enter into the chapel. I also have had many opporunities to serve in my community I was a girl scout when I was younger and did numerous service projects through that organization. But also many other service oppournities in high school as my theater clubs fundrasier and also apart of a community service club.
