Hi I'm Spencer Lyman

Utah raised. Full time Missionary (Mexico, Torreon Mission). I love the Gospel, my Family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am 18 years old. I am a full time Missionary in the Mexico, Torreon Mission. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love sharing the Gospel with those who don't have it. I play guitar, ukulele, bass guitar, and a bit of piano. I love running, playing football, and playing basketball. I love the outdoors. La Iglesia De Jesucristo De Los Santos De Los Últimos Días es verdadera!!!

Why I am a Mormon

To be honest, whether you're a convert or born and raised in the church, everyone is a convert. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is for every soul who has, and will ever live. The Lord expects us to do our part in coming to know him, and his Son Jesus Christ. I am a member who has been raised in the Church since I was born. I had a testimony of certain aspects of the church, but I never had a full testimony of it. This is due to the fact that I was not living the life I knew was right. During my 7th-9th grade years in Junior High School, I did not take the church seriously; my actions reflected the double standard I was living. My language, friend group, actions, and demeanor all showed that I did not take the church seriously. Then, things changed for me my 10th grade year in High School. I lost my grandparents, both whom I was extremely close to. My grandpa was the only active member of the church in his family, the rest of them fell into inactivity. Without my grandpa and his influence, I would not have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. The night he passed, he appeared to me in a dream and told me of his diligent efforts to be strong in the Church, he basically told me I needed to stop living the double standard I was living. From that point on, I knew the Lord was mindful of me. I went through repentance, which was the best decision I ever made. From that day on, I have not doubted the church and its doctrine. I finally prayed to know of the truth of The Book of Mormon, and if this church was true. The spirit manifested itself to me in my heart and brought me amazing peace, I knew it was answering all of my doubts and questions. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I know God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ live, and love us infinitely. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. Thomas S. Monson is our prophet on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I have voluntarily given two years of my life to serve the Lord as a Full Time Missionary for the people of Torreón, Mexico. Sharing the gospel every single day for the next two years with those who do not have it. Giving service to those who stand in need. Praying, and studying the scriptures on a daily basis.
