Hi I'm Shelby Allison

I'm a Texan, but I don't have an accent.

About Me

My name is Shelby. I'm a BYU Cougar, I'm the oldest daughter, and I love music of all sorts.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that Heavenly Father has prepared a way for each of his children to return to Him after we die. This is called the Plan of Salvation. The Plan of Salvation is one of the many aspects of the LDS church that provides answers to many of our questions. I am a Mormon because I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, just as the Bible is. I believe that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel in these latter days and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I've grown up in Texas and I've had many opportunities to tell others about my faith. Texas is part of the bible belt and no one is shy to talk about religion. I also did marching band during my entire high school career and it was widely known throughout the band that I am a Mormon. I've served in different presidencies for our Young Women's group, as a class instructor in my singles ward, and as a children's teacher. I am now leaving to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where I will teach others about how to return to our Father in Heaven.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Shelby Allison
The Atonement is the true message that the LDS missionaries are sharing; it is a message of hope, that each of us can return to our Father in Heaven even though we sin and make mistakes. The Atonement means that Christ felt every single pain that each of us has gone through, so He completely understands us. The Atonement allows us to receive peace and comfort by calling upon our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
