Hi I'm Rob Atkins

I live in Twin Falls, ID.

About Me

I am a husband, father, and grandfather. I have been a banker nearly my entire adult working life. I really enjoy my job, but I enjoy being with family even more. I often say that I go to work so I can earn a vacation. Hiking to see the remote and beautiful creations of God is absolutely one of my favorite things to do. There are also few things I enjoy more than sitting down to a good meal with my family. Better yet, a meal I cooked in a Dutch oven. A favorite hobby of mine is tennis. Now that most of my children are on their own, I find more time to play.

Why I am a Mormon

As a senior in high school I started dating a girl who was a Latter-Day Saint. After over a year of dating, I finally consented to hear the missionary lessons. It was a life changing experience. I was taught by wonderful sister missionaries. I felt something I had never felt before as they taught. It was a good warm feeling. I knew what they were teaching me was true. Eventually, I was baptized. It was a great decision and has blessed my life over and over. Also eventually, I married the girl in a temple of God. That was also one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Life can be hard but it is so much better living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in many capacities in the church. Some callings, such as the bishop of my ward, really stretched me. Service in the church helps me to grow. I also know that my church service helps me in all aspects of my life. For example, I know I am a better banker because of what I have learned serving in the church. One of my current responsibilities is organizing an annual Christmas program. It includes a beautiful musical program and nativity display. I love being part of it. We emphasize inviting those of other faiths to attend. We have a bell choir from another church participate which is a great addition.
