Hi I'm Wendy

I am a native San Diegan, I am a mother and grandmother, I love to read, cook and play volleyball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having been born and raised in San Diego, California, I have always loved the beach and still enjoy walking on the shore or taking a body board out to ride the waves. I also enjoy time with family and friends, and love the time I am able to spend with my four children and eleven grandchildren. My husband and I own a small business, which keeps us busy, but we look forward to time for trips together. I love to cook and bake - especially desserts! And because I love to cook, I try to stay active, playing volleyball whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My parents and grandparents were also members. But each of us needs to experience conversion in our own way. The scriptures have born witness to me that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. As I have faced trials and joys in this life I know he is always with me, lifting me and guiding me. I am grateful for the legacy of faith handed down by my forebears, but even more grateful for my own testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel on the earth, and the opportunity to be part of that community.

How I live my faith

At church and at home, I love to teach from the scriptures. It is a marvelous blessing to have God's word in front of us to study - a gift for our age. The Book of Mormon gives a second witness to the divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ. I also work with other members of my congregation to organize community service and fun activities. Each year we work at a natural preserve in our area under the direction of park rangers; I help organize and publicize a community fun run and pancake breakfast; and we celebrate excellence in education by honoring teachers in our area. I am grateful for how the Church offers opportunities for service.
