Hi I'm Scott Jones

I'm from Utah. I'm a Daniels Scholar. I was Born with a Cleft Lip and Pallet. I love life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born with a bilateral cleft lip and pallet. I am a Daniels Scholar (since 2012) and am currently studying Business Administration and Pre-Law. I play the Clarinet, Tenor/Alto Saxophones, and sing. I love camping, hunting, soccer, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, and racquetball. I love writing books and music. Most of all I love the Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member my whole life. However I was converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ when I was in my teenager years. Growing up as a kid I just went to church because my family took me there. When I got older though I started asking if everything was true and if this is really what I believe in. I read the Book of Mormon with a desire to ACTUALLY learn from it and to gain a testimony about it. I prayed sincerely and found out for myself that this is actually true and that Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father loves me and everyone around me. Heavenly Father has done so much for me and I can only hope to begin to pay him in this life-time. I know I'll never quite be able to but I want to show how much I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by following and obeying their commandments, by living my life in a way that shows how much I care. This world has so much to offer, both good and bad, and it is hard sometimes to know what to do. Through living God's commandments, reading the Book of Mormon, and through prayer I've Heavenly Father has directed and guided my life. I know that without him I would not be the person that I am today or the person that he will shape me into tomorrow. The Prophets we have here on the Earth today really do offer up the words of our Savior not to give us tons of rules to follow but to help protect us and guide us through all this turmoil. Joseph Smith really did see God and his son Jesus Christ. He really did translate the Book of Mormon from ancient records. He did reestablish Christ's Church on the earth again. And he was and is a Prophet of God. Heavenly Father and the Savior loves me and each and everyone of us so much. I am so grateful for his tenderness and mercy but also him loving me enough to give me trials to help me grow. I love him. I love Christ. I love the Gospel. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the best that I can possibly be. Doing this has brought so much joy to my life. I love serving everyone around me and afar. I love getting to know how much the Savior loves everyone as I serve them. By doing the small and simple things like attending church, the Temple, and praying often has helped me to develop a strong faith in Christ and what he did for each and every one of us.
