Hi I'm Curtis

I am a business professional. I love travelling and adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of seven children. I studied Business Management with an emphasis in Strategy in college, and I am now a leader in the customer success department of an incredible company. I love travelling to other countries. I have been to Europe twice, but Asia is my favorite place to travel. I served my mission in the Philippines for two years, I have been back to visit the Philippines, and I participated in a study abroad in Thailand, Singapore, China, and Japan. I have a passion for teaching and helping others to achieve their full potential. I also love to perform and have been involved in music and drama for a good portion of my life. Some of my favorite stage roles are Jack in Into the Woods, Judah and the Butler in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the Oz Gatekeeper in the Wizard of Oz. I sing in lots of choirs and have taken private piano lessons for 13.5 years, so I can often be found making music in some form. I also love baking, cooking, reading, learning, and hanging out with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is the true Church of Jesus Christ as restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon prophet Nephi talks about his people living "after the manner of happiness" (2 Nephi 5:27). I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the manner of happiness. As I follow the commandments of God, I have found greater joy and true happiness than I could ever find elsewhere. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I love participating in my ward. I help a lot with the music by playing at meetings, singing in the choir, and sometimes even leading the choir. I also have an assignment to teach once a month on Sunday. The most important ways I live my faith, though, are through the small things I do everyday. I love to study from the scriptures and words of the living prophets each morning. Communicating with our Father in Heaven through prayer is a crucial lifeline for me, and I love to pray to often. I also love to visit the temple each week to perform sacred ordinances. My faith is a way of life for me. Everything that I do is defined by my testimony of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World. I strive to treat those around me as the children of God that we all are, each with the potential to become like our Father and inherit all that He has. We are placed on earth in families and given the opportunity to associate with one another as friends in order to help each other make it back to the presence of our Father. I cherish opportunities to interact with people I love, so that I can learn from them and hopefully help them to draw nearer unto Christ in some way. The scriptures teach us that "men are, that they might have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). While life is often challenging, I try to always look on the bright side and maintain a positive attitude. I believe that optimism makes life much easier, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ promises us "hope for a better world" that makes such optimism possible (see Ether 12:4).
