Hi I'm Lisa Clayton

I'm a woman of a certain age who loves the restored gospel and cherishes knowledge of the atonement of Jesus Christ!

About Me

I'm a wife and a mother and loved raising our five children in Southern California, USA! They were all athletic so we spent a lot of time on bleachers, in stadiums, and in gyms. I loved cheering them on! When all the kids were off to college, I returned to school to earn my Master's Degree in Religion with an emphasis on North American Religions. I love learning. All truth fits into the gospel so beautifully. I loved the academic environment and learning from the other--younger!--students! My husband was a obstetrician/gynecologist for 28 years in private practice so we were busy! He is now retired and we're on a mission for the church in Toronto, Canada! We miss the grandchildren but are grateful to be serving here! Life is a great ride!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a deep and abiding assurance that in the gospel of Jesus Christ as it has been restored I find Christ's love and principles for living. My choice to be actively involved in the gospel and in the restored church has brought me joy. These eternal truths were of such help and comfort as we raised our five children! Teaching them to walk in paths of righteousness, and then seeing the blessings they receive because they do, has deepened my appreciation for God's plan. Every day is made more meaningful and every relationship is made more important. There is a richness to my experience because it is lived within an eternal context of God's will for me.

How I live my faith

Every day I try very hard to apply the principles of my faith in my words and my actions. I endeavor to have these reflect the Savior's love. I am so not perfect in doing this! But that's where the atonement comes in. Through the Savior's glorious atonement I can, each day, repent and try to do better. I feel His love and constant companionship as I try to do this. I have had the opportunity to serve the women in our congregation over the years--in our women's organization and in the program for the young women. I love sharing gospel principles that improve and enrich our lives and bring the joy of the Savior's love to each of us.
