Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in Miami and Heber. I play soccer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play soccer and have been playing ever since I was a little kid. I'm 45 days out from my mission and spend most of my time hanging out with friends and working on going into missionary mode. I love reading the scriptures and the spirit it brings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the true happiness that this church brings. Everything else brings temporal happiness, but in this church I am truly happy, and it lasts. I love the spirit that I can feel being around Mormons and I love the lifestyle as well. A lot of people look at the Mormon lifestyle as restricting or boring. It's quite the opposite. This lifestyle that I've been taught and now live is one that brings the most happiness and freedom out of any other lifestyle and I believe that wholeheartedly. I love the prophets and the teachings, and I wish to teach these things to everyone else that I meet.

How I live my faith

I meet every Sunday at church and every third hour of church I meet with the other kids my age and our advisors. I try to reach out to others who are struggling and bring up the gospel whenever I can.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kevin
No one in the church is "required" to serve a mission. We all have agency and can choose for ourselves what we want to do. It is a tradition though that males serve from 19-21, although that has been changed to 18-20. Every single male in the church is asked to serve and most do because it is such a privilege and honor to be able to give back to the Lord. Women do not have the same obligation as men to serve, but are welcome to. Show more Show less
