Hi I'm Bethany

I grew up in Washington DC. I love music, adventures, and ice cream. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to write music and sing. I love to dance. I love to LAUGH--I think it is a medicine that can help cure any bad situation. I love traveling and learning about different cultures. I love finding beauty in every situation. (Seriously. No matter where you are in this world there is something beautiful to be seen!) I love playing games with my family, goofing off with my friends, snuggling my cat and ending the day with a McFlurry (especially if it has extra oreo and hot fudge.).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it makes me happy. It gives me hope. It gives me courage. And most importantly, it helps me strengthen my relationship with God. We've all had hard times, we've all experienced heartache, loneliness and sorrow. I am no exception to that. But through every trial and downfall, the main source of my hope is the comfort and joy I feel because of living the gospel. When I study the Book of Mormon, my understanding of who I am, a beloved daughter of God, becomes very clear. Coupled with the Bible and all other scriptures, I can feel peace and strength in all that I do. When I strive to be the best I can be by living in accordance to the doctrines and principles of the church, I see a distinct difference in my life. I feel closer not only to my family and friends, but also to my Savior and Father in Heaven. That feeling is irreplaceable and I don't know what I would do without it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to reach out to others each day. The moments where I feel closest to God are when I make a conscious effort to show love for His children--whether its by talking to someone who seems like they could use a friend, offering to help with something, or simply smiling at a stranger (I truly believe it's the little things that count!). It is easy for me to get lost in my own thoughts and worries, but when I focus on what I can do for others I forget about my problems and feel a joy that cannot be replaced. As a result of that, I feel the presence of the Holy Ghost and am more motivated to make good decisions.
