Hi I'm Blake

I'm from California, I'm studying accounting, I'm in love with the prettiest girl in the world, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Escondido, California. I grew up in a wonderful Mormon family who loved and taught me to choose what is right. I love the beach! Its my favorite place. I studied Physics for a year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Now I am an undergraduate accounting student at Brigham Young University. I want to change the accounting world by combining accounting with information systems in ways that have never been done before, facilitating better record keeping and higher productivity. I served for 2 years as a full-time missionary in Chile for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was one of the most life-changing experiences of my life as I saw people's lives transformed. The gospel of Jesus Christ really does make us happier. I am engaged to my best friend. I met her five years ago at a church dance in California. We didn't start dating until about eight months ago. She makes me a better person and I am so lucky to have her. Together, we are having the adventure of a lifetime :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly believe that it is Christ's original church restored back to the earth. It is truly the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Why do we need a church? I believe God is our loving Heavenly Father, and that He wants us to be able to return to His presence. For this reason He sent His Son to pay the price of justice so that although imperfect, we can rise to a place of glory in our Heavenly Father's presence. We can access the blessings of Jesus's sacrifice by making promises with God, such as when we are baptized. These promises should be made using the proper authority which Christ held when he was on the earth. Unfortunately, this authority (priesthood) was lost when men started changing the simple doctrines and practices found in the church which Christ left us. I believe that the original church, authority, doctrines, and practices found in the times of Christ is newly upon the earth. I believe that I can be baptized with the authority of Jesus Christ, as if Jesus himself were baptizing me. I want to return to Heavenly Father's presence. Because of Christ's church I have found purpose and hope in life.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures with my fiance every day. We find strength to do whats right when we read the scriptures. I help organize Sunday-school classes at church each Sunday. Every Monday night we have a family home evening where we learn good principles and have fun with each other.
