Hi I'm Cherri

I grew up in Preston, Idaho. I'm a wife and the mom of 5 sweet girls one of which has special needs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a dairy farm in a small town. I learned to work hard and had great parents. In my youth I struggled with self esteem and my testimony. I pushed boundaries and had to learn things the hard way. I married straight out of high school and had a daughter at 19. She turned my life around. She was born 15 weeks early and weighed 1 pound 6 1/2 ounces. She was in the NICU for 3 months. She brought me back to activity in the church. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsey at 9 months. Her father and I divorced a year later. She was my world. I remarried when she was 3 and my new husband adopted her. I have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom with her and her 4 younger sisters. I love being a mom. To me it is the most important thing I can do. In the world I may not be much but to them I am everything. I can see who I am because I know who they are and who they can become. I enjoy reading, playing games and spending time with family and friends. I adore my husband and my family. I have been blessed with a great life even with the challenges we have and will continue to face.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised in the church I knew what the gospel standard and principles are. Even though I strayed for a short amount of time I think deep down I always knew. When my daughter was born so little and the odds of her survival were so small the teachings of eternal families became very dear to my heart. I had to have my precious daughter for forever. I started coming back to church and started living the gospel standards. My testimony grew as I obeyed and dedicated myself to following my Heavenly Father. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ I was able to repent. I was able to let go of past sin and heal. I was able to be "born again". I have a deep love for my Savior and his sacrifice for me. I am committed to showing him how grateful I am for His gift and how much I love him by serving and following his commandments. I listen and try to follow the leaders of His church. All that I do and am is because of my Savior and a loving Heavenly Father. My angel was sealed to me and my new husband 17 years ago. I have an eternal family. I am strengthened by the covenants I have made in His temple. I can do hard things because of Him. I am a daughter of God with divine worth. I want my daughters to know that true joy comes from living the gospel. I want others to know how much their Father in Heaven loves them. We are all of significant worth.

How I live my faith

When my husband and I moved away from home we learned to rely on each other and our church family. Our testimonies grew and my conversion to the gospel deepened. I was needed. I have played piano for the small children. I have worked with the youth. I have always been a visiting teacher and some of my greatest friendships have come from those associations. I have taught a marriage and family class. I have served with the women of the church. I am currently being stretched by serving in the cub scouts. I have no sons and I am learning from these precious young boys. I have a testimony of leaders calling us to serve where we are suppose to be. Where we can grow the most. This has been very humbling. I am helping these young boys grow in testimony and in ability. I am learning to rely more on my Heavenly Father.
