Hi I'm Amber

I am a student. I am a musician. I love cooking but not the dishes that go with it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth of five children. We are all very different which is hard at times but also strengthens our need for each other. I was very involved in the music program in high school. I started out playing the clarinet then found my true passion for singing and switched over to choir. I'm currently going to college studying music (surprise, surprise) and have recently learned to play the flute. I love spending time with my family when ever I can. I especially love when we go camping every summer. I am generally viewed as quiet but I love having fun.

Why I am a Mormon

It makes sense and feels right. I grew up in the church but I didn't always know that it was true. During the time that I was questioning the church and everything that I thought I had believed, I got in a huge fight with my younger sister. I ran outside the house in a torrent of tears and anger. My brother came out after me to tell me that if I wanted to feel better than I did and had been feeling, that I should read the scriptures. It took me a couple of months to really have that sink in, but then I started to read the Book of Mormon. I could tell that something was different but it was very subtle. I didn't have a huge manifestation. My knowledge came little by little. God has given me enough knowledge to take the steps forward in my life. It hasn't always been easy. In fact, it's not easy. But the gospel of Jesus Christ makes it easier because I know that hope is not lost. I'm not perfect. I will never be perfect, but through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I am not a lost cause.

How I live my faith

I think I'm more of a silent stalwart. I don't bake cookies everyday to send to my friends and neighbors. I don't shingle roofs for my neighbors mostly because I'm scared of heights. I do jump at opportunities to do service when the opportunity comes up. I'm willing to help out at our church activities. I have even had some leadership opportunities when I was younger to organize activities for the youth (teenagers). I try to do all that the Lord has asked me to do. It's a lot and I know that I have shortcomings but I am working on them and I am improving. I like to think that by doing that, I am making a difference. I have been called to serve a mission for the church. I am very excited to share the happiness and joy I feel in life because of my Savior, Jesus Christ, with the people in my mission.
