Hi I'm Roger

I grew up a Mormon in small community on a farm & learned to love the gospel from my parents and family.

About Me

I have a wife and four children, 13 grandchildren, and 2 (soon to be 3) great grandchildren. Our youngest son passed away very unexpectedly at the age of 35 a little over a year ago. His death was an ordeal to his four small children, his spouse, his siblings and his parents. This humbling experience has helped us to grow and learn that this life is a time to prepare to meet God and live the gospel and keep our covenants. Our family has felt the love of the Savior throughout this experience. I am a college graduate with a degree in accounting and have had a long career working for a corporation in financial management. I love to play golf and I have been actively involved with high school sports officiating for over 45 years. I love to cook in Dutch ovens and share with family and friends

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very active family and have always tried to follow the teachings of Mormon church except for a short period of time right after I graduated from high school. I soon came to realize the truthfulness of the gospel and what I wanted out of this life. The things that I wanted was to be sealed to an eternal companion, a family, and the blessings of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am very grateful to the Savior for the blessings that He has given me in in my life. I love Him and I am know that He lives and loves me and everyone. I am so very grateful for eternal families and blessings that come to us from living the gospel. I know the God lives and hears and answers our prayers. While our paths are often uphill and sometimes hard and strewn with hardships I know that the rewards of living up to the covenants we make will be worth it in the life to come with our families. I express my gratitude for the gift of atoning sacrifice of the Savior for without that great gift I would not have the hope and a sense of peace in my life. We can all be forgiven of our earthly transgressions with true and sincere repentance. I express my sincere love to the Savior for all the gifts He has given me.

How I live my faith

I serve in my church in a Stake calling and have been assigned to help and advise the leadership of a local congregation. I also have an assignment to work with the Single Adults of the local area to assist with a program for them that encompasses nine Stakes. We collectively plan, organize and execute activities for them in this area. I am a home teacher and love to visit the families that I am assigned.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Roger
I believe that a prophet leads His children in His church in this day and age and it is no different than throughout history that God has had prophets lead and direct his Church on this earth. His prophets lead us, guide us, and directs us to do those things that lead us a happier and fuller life. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Roger
The family is a the unit in our world in which we can bring children into his world and the blessings that they can bring into our lives cannot be measured. The love of a family is essential to my beliefs and life. It is though the blessings that they bring into my life that makes me want be be a try a harder to be a little better each day and to to live the gospel so that I can enjoy them someday in the eternities. .
