Hi I'm Marni Warren

I am from Idaho, a grandmother , a gardener, a nurse and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My delights in life are my children, my grand children, helping other people in my career and I love gardening and music. Nothing about my is very exceptional. I'm just an ordinary person with an extraordinary family history.

Why I am a Mormon

All my ancestors were pioneers, but that isn't why I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I am a Mormon because I had to know for myself. I had to know if what my ancestors who were handcart pioneers said was true. My search began many years ago as a teenager, and has continued all my life as the gospel has enriched my life and I have learned many facets of the gospel. And it isn't just about knowledge...it is about knowing in your heart by a witness of the Holy Ghost that it is true. It is learning to know beyond doubt, beyond circumstance that it is all true. It is about coming to know your Savior. I may not have been in Martin's Cove Wyoming, or crossed the plains walking. I may not have built flour mills for the Saints, or have been driven out of Nauvoo. I may not have been on the rough voyage crossing from England that left every single crew member dead and only the Saints alive to bring the ship to port as did some of my ancestors. But I know as they do that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in these latter days. It is all True. Completely True. It is my life-line in a world gone crazy with deception and lies everywhere you turn. It is my hope, my anchor in the wind.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church in many different ways, from being a children's chorister as a teenager, to a youth leader in my area, to teaching the gospel to women in prison, to leading a prison choir, teaching high school students in seminary before they went to school. I have organized preparedness fairs and taught kitchen demonstrations on everything from sourdough and bread making, making yogurt and cottage cheese, to dutch oven cooking, gardening, canning, food storage, and 72 hour kits, to dry packing foods, making your own soup mixes, making your own baking mixes. I have worked on activities from cooking dutch oven dinners for 400 people to Christmas celebrations as if you were spending a night in Bethlehem. I have worked with the girls at Girls' camp, cooking, hiking and sleeping with them, teaching them camping and emergency skills. When someone needs help moving we help. When a mom gives birth we take in meals. When there is a funeral we comfort and take in food for the family or to the funeral. What it boils down to is the gospel and the church is the center of my life and I delight in serving wherever I can. Helping others is what it is all about.
