Hi I'm Reed Fanning

Born in Seattle, Washington, I was raised and educated in Utah. I also spent a year in California and a year in Tonga.

About Me

After college, I spent 26 years in the United States Army. I have also worked for the State of Idaho, and for a Department of Energy Contractor. I have been married for 42 years, I have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. I spent several years participating in community theater. I love doing musicals. My favorite roles include The Admiral in HMS Pinafore, and Zoltan Karpathy in My Fair Lady. I've also been a pirate in the Pirates of Penzance.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I accepted the challenge to read the Book of Mormon, and ask God if that book is His word. The confirmation of the Holy Ghost was clear and sure. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's kingdom on the earth.

How I live my faith

I have served in many Church callings, including Bishop. As a young man, I served a full time mission in England, and forty-odd years later, returned to the same mission with my wife. We are currently serving another mission in California. My favorite church calling would be Executive Secretary, because that's where my talent lies. If I can't do that, I'd rather teach the Gospel Doctrine class in Sunday School, the teacher always learns more than he teaches.

What do Mormons believe about family?

I am very grateful to have an eternal family; sealed by the power of the Priesthood of God. Show more Show less
