Hi I'm Amanda

I was born and raised in Utah. I love the outdoors, playing the piano, being with my family and traveling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors doing most anything! I love to spend the summers camping with my family. I'm grateful to have married someone who shares my passion for the mountains. I also love to play the piano. I started taking lessons when I was very young and although the formal lessons have stopped, I continue to play very often. I really love to travel. I collect spoons from the places that I go. I am married to my best friend! We were sealed for time and all eternity in the temple. We have been married for two years and what an amazing two years they have been! They have been full of ups and downs, but experiencing all of it together has changed me in ways that two years ago I wouldn't have thought possible. We don't have any children yet, but look forward to the day when we will be parents. I work in an elementary school as a Paraprofessional. I love learning from the children. They amaze me all of the time. Being with them is a constant reminder of how wonderful life is. This life is a gift and I'm grateful to my Father In Heaven for all He has given me!

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful to my Father In Heaven for my life and for this wonderful gospel. I am grateful for my Savior. I know that He died for each and every one of us. One of my favorite quotes is this, "He died for all of us, but He would have died for one of us." I know this to be true. I continue to follow His gospel because of the joy that it brings to my soul. My Heavenly Father has promised me that I can be with my family forever. I am grateful for His unchanging ways. I continue to follow His gospel because of the truthfulness of it. He is real. His gospel is real. It is my rock and my life support in the storms of today. The Lord is always with me. He knows me and loves me. He has given His life for me! I know the Book of Mormon to be true. I have asked and the Spirit has testified to me of it's truthfulness. I know that everyone can receive a witness of the Book of Mormon if they will but ask of the Father in faith. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God, and I know that we are led by a prophet today, even Thomas S. Monson. I know that the Savior's atonement is absolutely real. I have seen and felt the effects of it in my life countless times. I know He listens as I pray. He is waiting to bless me and each and every one of us. All we have to do is come unto Him. I know He answers our prayers no matter what they may be. I also know that things are done in His timing and not our own. This is a wonderful comfort to me because the Lord is in charge. He sees all and knows exactly what we need and when we need it. As hard as it may be at times, we need to put our trust in Him and His timing. As we do, we will be blessed. I am so grateful for my membership in Christ's church. I would absolutely not have it any other way. I am the person that I am because of Him. I have overcome trials in my life that would not have been possible without my Savior. All things are possible because of Him!

How I live my faith

I've lived most of my life in a small town in Utah. Most people I knew were LDS. A year after I got married, my husband and I moved out of Utah. There are good people everywhere, but I'm not as surrounded by members anymore. This experience is one that is changing me for the good. Although I'm not extremely shy, I've never been very outgoing either. But I've found that the Lord gives us opportunities to better ourselves. I've met so many wonderful people and have friendships with them now that wouldn't have been possible without the help of the Lord. These friendships are with members as well as non-members. I've been given many opportunities to share the gospel, even by example. I've also been blessed to strengthen my talents by sharing them with others. I love to play the piano, but am nervous about playing in front of others. I was blessed to be called to play the piano for the opening/closing songs for one of the meetings at church on Sundays. This calling has both improved my talent as well as strengthened my faith and trust in my Savior and His ability to help me. I live my faith by doing my best to be an example for others to follow. I try to have the light of Christ within me so that others may feel His strength and love. I know the Lord loves each and every one of us and that love is evident everywhere. I try to show gratitude and give credit and glory to the Lord for everything. All that I have is His, and what an amazing blessing that is! Everything will be taken care of because the Lord is in control!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Amanda
All around me, I see evidences that there is a God. I am here on this earth. The fact that I am, and that there is an earth witness that God is real. He has given me a heart that beats, eyes to see, feelings of love and compassion, and so much more. I do not believe in coincidences. God is in charge. He answers my prayers. He is always listening. You too, can know that God exists if you will ask of Him in faith. He loves you! Show more Show less
