Hi I'm Marissa

I was born and raised in Utah. I'm studying to become an occupational therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love helping people. I'm going to college to become an occupational therapist, but I've been thinking about switching to nursing. I love being outside going hiking, fishing or camping. I love photography and art. I received my mission call to Guatemala and am so excited to share the gospel and speak spanish. I love reading. My favorite animals are dogs and sea turtles. My favorite colors are any shade of blue and gray. I LOVE mexican food! I have three siblings whom I love to pieces and I am so grateful that we are an eternal family. I want to be a mom more than anything else in this whole world and I can't wait for that opportunity. I believe that kindness, humility, love and hard working are the best quality traits a person can have. And I think that life is a beautiful gift and I intend to make the most of it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and when I was in high school I began to question if it was true or if I was just attending for my parents sake. I began to pray and study my scriptures more to find out the answer for myself. Through some special experiences that I hold dear in my heart I found for myself that our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives. And that He loves each and everyone of us. He knows each of us on a personal level and He is always there for us, whether we are grieving for the loss of a loved one, we feel lonely or maybe we're just having a bad day. I know that He is our elder brother and He died and suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross so that through the beautiful gift of the atonement we can repent and be worthy to return to our home in heaven with our Heavenly Father. I know that families can be together forever through the sealing power in the temple. I know that the Book of Mormon was written for our day and goes side by side with the bible. I know that the Holy Ghost is real and He confirms truth to us and prompts us to do the right thing or to know what Heavenly Father needs us to be doing. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a man of God and he is our prophet on this earth today to lead us and guide us. I know that the Savior will come to earth again. And I know that is church is the only true church on the face of this earth and I love it dearly. It is the best thing in my life and has brought me true and lasting happiness and peace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying my scriptures and praying daily. I also attend our church services every Sunday. I try my best to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ, by being kind to those I meet and helping others when I see an opportunity. I am very excited to become a missionary and share my testimony every day.
